Every 4th of July my family and I have gathered around the boat dock on this beautiful property to watch the fireworks. My mom’s long time friend grew up in this house and his parents still reside there. My mom has many fond memories of this house as she grew up. I also have many fond memories of this place. This was the first location where my husband met my family for the first time. Every time I have gone there I have always envisioned a wedding there. From the gazebo, fresh hydrangeas, southern porch, a gorgeous garden, scenes of the Ohio river, and a stunning fountain, I have always thought someone should get married here. Growing up in Greenup, you would have thought I would have gotten married here, however I ended up getting married at another historical house down the street to hold as many guest as we had! Although I was unable to get married here, I still wanted to bring out the vision that I had for many years. This past 4th of July it was brought to my attention that this house was on the market and the owners were about to have an open house, so I immediately felt the anxiety of not being able to bring this dream to life! After many phone calls, emails and random stalking on social media I found the perfect vendors that were willing to make this vision a reality! So cue the bridal session! While shooting we were able to capture two different bridal looks featuring gowns by Miss Hayley Paige from Hyde Park Bridal. I also wanted this bridal session to be like a true wedding day as I go off with the bride to do her own portraits. You can see our model Kristen holding her hand written vows that she is about to read before she steps on the alter. I highly recommend soon to be brides having a calligraphist hand write your vowels so you can keep them forever! Finally one of my favorite touches to this shoot was the gorgeous bouquet by Jewlies. I wanted the bouquet to bring in all the elements that the garden already had, such as the lush greens and the blue hydrangeas. I made sure to capture all the gems and unique touches this house has to offer!

Bridal sessions are currently one of my favorite things! (Yes they are real!) Often brides have hair and make up trials a couple of weeks before the big day. Why not throw on your dress while you are at it! That way, we can go ahead and complete ALL of your bridal portraits so we don’t have to stress about getting them done on your wedding day! The hard work is already done! (And don’t worry your groom WONT see you during this session! )
