During the pandemic, it was hard for people to find connection with others. Shooting a few lifestyle photos in Cincinnati after the lock down helped me rebuild that connection with the ones I missed so much! Jake and Jenny’s baby boy Bodi is getting so big now and of course we had to document his sweet personality.
Mill street studio provided such beautiful natural light coming in through the huge bay window. What I loved about this session is that I posed them for a few photos but after that I just sat back and watched them interact with Bodi. Bodi enjoyed running wild through the studio so I could get some funs shots with movement. Bodi also brought his trains with him to keep him entertained.
Life was really weird in 2020. But I am so thankful to be around friends like Jake and Jenny. Along with the rest of my friends and family they have been a constant reminder of what is like to have a strong community backing you up.
After this session was shot, Fuji announced that my beloved film stock Fuji400h will sadly be discontinued. The night that it was announced, I frantically bought several boxes of film to ensure that I would be covered for this wedding season. Ive shot a few lifestyle photos on film but this was the first time that I hardly touched my digital camera. It was a challenge, but I loved the end results. Thats the amazing thing about shooting photos on film is that you don’t get that instant gratification like you do with digital, but rather its like opening a present on Christmas morning that you have been waiting for!
